Artist History
Veterans of the Toronto music scene, Nikki and Justin started working together in 1994. Tired of traditional routes, they decided to playas a duo. Without the aid of samplers, keyboards or drum machines, their unique approach began to take shape. Nikki's unique lyrical ideas combined with Justin's innovative 8-string guitar vision resulted in the songs on "TOURISTS IN MY LIFE". |

Press Reviews
If there was ever a tighter vocal union, you couldn't find it in this lifetime. Not only is the harmony work shadowless, but the music is also right on the money. It starts and stops on a dime and keeps a strong, solid presence throughout. Nikki and Justin have this unique quality that makes them seem as one mind, one direction, one sound without being able to pigeonhole them into a definable category of genre. They are about as tight as you can get musically, lyrically and philosophically. - INDEPENDENT SONGWRITERS MAGAZINE, NEW YORK Eclectic, jazz inspired, innovative, tight, impressive. Nikki Loney and Justin Abedin turn genre assumptions on their ear with a dynamic and cavalier performance, and pioneering new sounds. - C'EST WHAT SHOWBAR, TORONTO ... Nikki Loney's strong voice, backed expertly by Justin Abedin proved she may give jazz diva Holly Cole a run for her money ... - THE WINNIPEG SUN ... the breathy jazz-pop of vocalist, Nikki Loney and 8-string guitarist, Justin Abedin was musically flawless... - WINNIPEG FREE PRESS ... the audience enjoyed the set of Loney and Abedin so much that the duo's debut CD TOURISTS IN MY LIFE ended up flying off the table faster than they could be brought in. The response was unprecedented. - Dave Sherman, executive producer WINNIPEG JAZZ FESTIVAL |
