Artist History
Formed in 1997 in a laboratory at Stanford University, Laurence Iconoclast is a San Francisco-based performance entity promoting "Ironic Rock" in the vein of They Might Be Giants, Too Much Joy and Ween.
The band has released 2 albums to date: "The DeLorean Album" and "Basura Blanca," garnering both college and commercial radio play.
In the spirit of ultimate transgressiveness, the band has forged an identity in San Francisco as a public service organization, hosting political debates (most
recently with mayoral candidates) and benefit shows for homeless shelters.
Mostly a headliner in medium size clubs, Laurence Iconoclast has played before crowds as large as 1,500 and as small as 10. |
