Press Reviews
"Recordings made by musicians who go beyond their main bands to release self written, performed and produced music are at best, a hit or miss proposition. More often than not the resultant music is a mix of self-indulgent, monotonous noodlings that really only appeal to the performer himself, where others find them tedious to listen to. Every now and then an artist comes along who constructs music that combines the freedom that comes from working with one's self with the range and versatility that is a vital part of the band concept. Lackthereof... is a fine example of the latter. With subject matter that deals with human relationships, failure, isolation, uncertainty, hypocrisy and denial... From Dadaism to minimalism, urban contemporary mesh with folk exhortations then segue into simple church hymns..."(John Malgesini, review dept., The East Oregonian) - - - "...lackthereof's willingness to experiment with both rock and Drum 'n' Bass hybrids should excite those in pursuit of ingenuous creativity." (Kelly B., listen.com) - - - "what can i say? a must-hear, definitely." (Built to Rock! station, mp3.com |
