Artist description
I've started the project G.U.N.I. in early 1998. After years of going clubbing and experiencing all kinds of music in the UK and mainland Europe I thought I would like to try if I could do music just the way I like it. I see myself more like a sound architect than a musician. |

Press Reviews
Raw42 Review:Ominous sounding pads and high pitched sweeps set the tone for Guni. The sounds and scales used in amino are eastern, giving the song an ethnic feel, despite its gloominess. This is minimalist music, the beat made up solely of a kick drum layered with a long delay. It's very well done too, no sounds are out of place here. The occasional melodic loop is enough to keep the song going. There just isn't much to listen to, which makes it hard to relate to. Rogue is the same, few sounds, but they have been carefully created and you can tell a lot of thought and time was put into getting these songs just right. Some more percussion adds to the other-worldly feel of guni's music in this track. Seasell bears the same marks as the other two songs, the rhythm here created by delayed kicks and resonant blips. The pure booming quality of the bass in this song stands out, as does the introduction and rapid disappearance of a breakbeat towards the end. Pure ambient that will definitely appeal to fans of the quieter side of the genre. And a number of short reviews @ www.riffage.com |
