GROSS was formed in the summer of 1998. The members all have a different musical background, and all these elements together create the sound of GROSS. The bandmembers participated in bands like Mizpah (CD’s "I’m here" and "This glorious day"), The Wannabees (CD "Bar is Open") and Perpetual Demise (CD "Arctic"). The band stopped in 2000. Ries and Armand joined together in singer/songwriter band The Rain Poets and Nico, Rein and Hans joined together in disco band Brownstar.
    Group Members
Ries de Wit - vocals, Hans van Binsbergen - guitar & synths, Rein Driessens - drums, Armand Wijskamp - guitar, vocals, Nico Taminiau - bass

Review bij RAM of GRS (posted 04-26-99)[...]Overall Gross sounds like a good choice if you dig the Alternative scene. All the players in this band sound excellent. I bet these guys could ROCK live .They strike me as a Bowie meets Radiohead in the next millenium.Good JobReview by GOLDRUNT (posted 05-18-99)CRUSH-[...]I am a sucker for male falsetto, and this one doesn't fail to deliver. There is so much tenderness and vulnerablity displayed when a guy sings like he sings to a lover when he's holding them close. It's hard to get that in the studio, unless you are skilled enough to have everything set up when they come over.[...] Satelite Dude- [...] This is an example of a good use of a half-scream vocal trick, which is SO hard to do well. I've seen it used poorly often, even in top 40 stuff. Right before the chorus where he breaks his voice on "and I", well, that gets me in a real emotional way. I'm sold.[...]Review by Tornmusic (posted 05-18-99) [...]IT'S KILLING ME: this is definitly a Sabbath inspired song. In fact in sounds like Sabbath with a Dutch guy singing. Even the guitar tone is straight out of the mid 70's gloom metal bands. [...] ADRENALINE KICK: guitar progression in the verse sounds exactly like Van Halen. In fact everything about this song sounds like a VanHalen tune including the Michael Anthony harmonies.[...]
