Press Reviews
Grampa, "Intermission-17:13" LP (Buerte) -- From deep within the belly of the Oakland underground comes a band beyond description. They are known as Grampa, and they fucking rock harder than most. Their sound is best described as crazed: raging drums, frantic guitars, and psychotic sounding vocals slam together to produce the soundtrack to a damn fine time. The whole thing starts off with the throbbing guitar attack of "3 foot Abdominal Scar" and then moves into the silly syncopation of "28%." Grampa makes the transition from tightly focused aural bursts of aggression to mellow silliness quite easily, and this is where their genius lies. Drop 'em a line and tell them Slap sent you. -- Bean, SLAP Magazine. |
