Artist description
Muuhda, pronounced (moo-duh), is a four piece dynamic rock band located in Atlanta, GA with high energy music that is versitile, intelligent and emotional. They have been compared to bands such as Incubus, Hum, Deftones, 311, Tool and many others.. Formed in January of 2000, Muuhda's line up consists of Tom Hornsby (vocals), Joel Guerra (bass), Josh Hager (drums), and Andy Slagle (guitar). Each member of this band has a wide variety of influences such as hard rock, funk, reggae, alternative rock, trance, drum and bass, world music, hip hop and jazz giving them the inspiration to go in many directions musically but always keeping to their distinct sound.
Muuhda proved their versitility in the summer of 2001 by releasing "No Large Scale Areas", a humble recording displaying the bands knack for melting aggression and emotion with technicality and good musicianship. Muuhda recorded "No Large Scale Areas" in their make shift home studio using modest recording equipment and no outside help in the recording process. This cd shows a little more of Muuhda's funk and reggae influences with songs like "428" and "Foreshadowing" while songs like "Sore", "Feel" and "Part of Something" display their ability to write melodic hard rock songs. |

Press Reviews
Muuhda is a band to watch for in the future. They are a talented unit of musicians that will be hard to miss." Johnny Carson-LeftField Magazine---------------
Muuhda was Voted Best "Loud/Heavy Band" of 2001 in Atlanta by Creative Loafings readers.----------------
MUUHDA (pronounced Moo-duh) hails from Atlanta, Georgia and consists of Tom-voice, Joel-bass, Josh-drums and Andy-guitar. Formed in 2000 the band has currently released two demos. 2001 NO LARGE SCALE AREAS which was recorded in their makeshift studio and you can really hear it in the recording. On this disc a blend of funk and reggae oozes out in their songs. Although it captures that vibe, the guys tend to mix those influences with a blend of melodic hard rock.
2002 The guys recorded a four song EP. The recording is fresh and clear sounding. Focusing more on the light melodic tones. I feel they cut the fat away from their sound and now stand real and secure. A strong vocalist makes a band and MUUHDA captures that throughout. I like the twists and turns in NOBODY'S HOME. Making sure a heavier back drop is heard in-between the airy melody. If your pallet loves the sounds of Incubus or even Hoobastank, then MUUHDA will really move your mind, body and senses.
