Artist History
THC has evolved and changed many times since it's inception in late 1986.What started as a side project of several members of the late great twin cities band "Assassin", quickly evolved into a force of it's own.The first lp, a 35 song punk album entitled "THC-Self Destruct",was a success quickly becoming a classic of it's time. The next evolution of "THC" was spawned in the summer of 1988 with the release of "THC-World Fate" LP. This album was more controlled in nature and it's song structure and echoed the sonic stylings of many hardcore punk and metal units of the day. While still remaining loyal to it's political/social roots, THC explored many new topics and stylings while almost coining the terms "punk-metal" & "hardcore crossover" The newest evolution of "THC" is a hybrid of modern electronics mixed with heavy chorded instrumentation. THC now draws from an extremely deep well of influence and stylistic expression, leading to a very expansive sound which does not lend itself to being "pigeon holed" into any particular genere. THC is as politically and socially angry in this new millenium as it was over a decade ago.The uncertain future of our countrys politics and dis-aggreable dope laws have spawned the ressurection of this great unit and it's latest lp -"THC-Tribal Hemp Cult" |
