    Artist History
Spin Radio was formed in April of 1996 when Eric Peterson (Guitar & Vocals) was helping record a solo project for Jamin Rathbun (Former Lead Vocalist for Hot Pink Turtle). Jamin & Eric found similar musical interests and started to form a band. The name Spin Radio doesn't have any deep philisophical meaning or tie in to some lost form of voodoo or anything. They were simply having a difficult time choosing a name, so they started thinking of words they thought sounded cool. Eric picked "Spin" and Jamin picked "Radio"... so it stuck. Being that Eric was based in St. Louis and Jamin was based in Kansas City, a steady band was just not going to work out, (Although it took them over a year and about 1,000 gallons of gas to figure this out), so Eric decided to start a band locally and start playing some shows. After establishing its first set of members in the fall of 1998, the band began playing shows around St. Louis. While playing out, the band recorded a three song cassette to sell at their shows. They sold out of the initial run of 100 tapes and ran 100 more within just a few weeks. The band then went on to shoot two videos for ABC Channel 30's "Mid Coast Mania" program and played two opening slots for MCA recording artists, Colony. The current line-up is: Todd Hurt (Drums), Eric Peterson (Guitar & Vocals), and Steve Schrage (Bass). The band released their debut album, Tank, in September of 2001. The band is still looking into working with Terry Taylor. They have had many discussions with him on the phone and are constantly sending demo's, but are still deciding which route they want to take. We'll see where all of this takes them.
