Artist description
NETZACH is the Hebrew word for eternity. The pieces here all use the sampled voices of some of the greatest cantors, or hazzanim of the mid-20th century. These striking voices were recorded primitively in the 1920s-40s. They have been electronically restored, and given new techno settings to preserve them, andattract a new generation of listeners for the new millenium. The singing of the hazzanim is a uniquely beautiful mix of Western operatic stylings with Oriental/Arabic modes and techniques. This is a FRLL23 project. |
