Artist description This is to all who visit this site:This is who we are and what we are about. Our music means much more to us than just a time where we can get together and perform for others. To us it is about impacting the personal lives of our fans, friends, and people we perform for or hear our music. It is about allowing everyone who wants to be, the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than mere music itself. In November of 1999, with already years of experience playing in other bands together, we set out to create a band that was capable of doing just that. We focused on writing material that was both emotional and thought provoking. After trying out several guitar players, no one seemed to fit until the we added Mike Wiegand. His musical talent and varied influences completed Lucidity. After playing our first few shows as a band in late April of 2000, it was evident to us that we were on the right track toaccomplishing what we had set out to do. Our stage performance was both powerful and emotional, and that power and emotion began to pour out to those who needed it most. The reaction we received from all those who saw us play was overwhelming. We decided to go into the studio and record a 3 song demo. We sent it out to a few record labels, to no prevail. In August of 2000, we were asked by Jorge Orduna, of Reject37 Records, to join their label. We accepted this invitation. Since this time we have went through some changes. Aaron Rugh, our bass player, left the band. We added long time friend, Mike Emory to our line-up. We also had to re-center our focus. We had to ask ourselves, "What are we trying to do here?" We began to get this desire to push ourselves to the next level. We felt we were selling ourselves short musically and needed to push the limit artistically. What came out of this refocus was a sound extremely unique in its feel and emotion. A sound that can not be defined, but must be experienced. We are now in the process of playing shows and introducing old and new fans alike to what we feel is a truly unique sound. We have one main desire in doing all this. Call it a vision if you like. This is for everyone to become a part of what we are trying to accomplish and to have the opportunity to experience the emotion we fell every time we practice or play live. There is no greater feeling than to express yourselves and have people understand that expression on their individual levels. We feel art has been suppressed for many years by the institutions that rule over us. There has been a fear by the leaders that run these institutions that if people are allowed to express themselves they themselves may lose some power or control. It is time for this generation, to not hold back and express the pain, joy, anger, love, and emotion we have deep in our souls. It is time to express who we are through our art. In order to do this and accomplish our goals we need your help. We want to allow you to be lucid, like we are with our music. We want you to experience the joy of expressing emotions deep beneath your surface, that you never thought you had. We want you to send us your art, poetry, and pictures so we can post them on our visions page. We want you to be a part of this project we are trying so desperately to complete. Artist History Lucidity was formed in November of 1999. Recorded first demo in mAy of 2000. Signed to Reject37 Records, out of Santa Monica in July of 2000. Currently recording first album due out Janaury of 2001.
