Artist History
Now it came to pass during the early winter of 1972. This child, born into a family of musicians, inherited from that family a fundamental love and respect for music. At the age of nine, Hezekiah's two brothers, one an M.C., the other a D.J. and B-Boy, introduced him to a music genre that soon consumed his free time and imagination. Aside from the inspiration his brothers provided, Hezekiah began to admire specific aspects of the music. Lyrically, Kool G Rap impressed upon him the importance of lyrical dexterity. Hezekiah admired his ability to hold his own as a storyteller and battle M.C. He began to hold groups such as Public Enemy and Leaders of the New School in high regard for holding his attention during their live performance. Eventually his discerning ear and avid appreciatioin for the art ignited him with a desire to participate, and he did! Some may be familiar with "Exit Womb Status", an album that he produced featuring a variety of unsigned artists. His ideas and ability to write, produce, and perform distinguishes him from other M.C.'s. Hezekiah is one of the few artists using his mind to enlighten through his music. "I'm not trying to preach. I'm just putting ideas out there and letting the audience make their decision" With his first solo album, "The Slide Show", Hezekiah forges his way into unexplored realms of Hip Hop by fusing all genres of music that he admires. P.S. It Is Music. |
