Artist description
If an airplane crashed on the border between the U.S. and Canada, where would you bury the survivors?... YOU DON'T BURY SURVIVORS, SILLY! Nope ya don't bury us at all, ya just let us make music! Deep-fried southern get-down funk with cornbread and gravy on the side, Rock -n- Roll in it's purest form of Carl Perkinsesque back porch sock-hoppin' hoe down jam sound! What is it? What kinda mess have we made here??? Well, no one's for sure, but just be sure to bring some cornbread, Some overalls, and your disco shoes when ya come to see us! Oh! ...and ya might wanna work on growin' a fro too, it'll come in handy...They always do. Get ready K-town & all around, we're diggin' our way out and bringin' you the sound of what is now known as "THE BURIED SURVIVORS"! You'll Dig Us... |

Group Members
Chris Carter - Lead Vocals - Carter is the dynamic front man of the group. He provides the band with distinguished vocals and he also writes the majority of lyrics for the band's material. Usually decked out in a suit and tie, Carter sticks out like a sore thumb in the group. Along with his vocal talent, Carter also plays a wide assortment of various percussion instruments (washboard, morraccas, congas, beatbox, etc.)Neal Madore - Vocals, Guitar - Neal is the multi-talented member of the group. Performing with guitar, trombone, and harmonica all in the same show! Along with his amazing instrumental capabilities, Neal also lends backing vocals to Carter on most songs as well as singing lead vocals on other songs. This boy can sing about some serious heartbreak!John Hutchins - AKA "The Golden Boy" - Guitar - John provides the band with it's acoustic spine. He'll even break out the slide every now and then! John is not a native Knoxvillian though, originally from Ohio, he grew up surrounded by corn fields and farmer's daughters! Todd Christopher - Bass - Todd brings the diverse bass grooves to the band's music. Along with his solid funk style, he also throws in a bit of hillbilly bluegrass and acid jazz just to mix things up a bit. You may have heard him before, as he does play bass for Knoxville's very own Casey Jones. (Be sure to check Casey, Todd, and others out at Spicy's on Wednesdays and at Hannah's on Tuesdays). Devan Brewer - Drums - Devan is the funk bringin', jazz slingin', "getdown", hippy drummer for the group. You can also see him with the Casey Jones Band. He has had the opportunity to play with many great Knoxville groups and is heavily educated in jazz. |
