Artist description
John M. Frazier, a native Philadelphian, holds a Master of Music Degree in clarinet performance from Temple University, a Graduate Diploma from St. Louis Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music Degree from The New School of Music. His teachers include Anthony Gigliotti, George Silfies and Ronald Reuben.During his studies at Temple University, he was awarded an internship with The Haddonfield Symphony in which he was principal clarinetist for three years. In addition, while studying at The New School of Music, he was the winner of the concerto competition in which he performed the Weber First Concerto in f minor.Mr. Frazier has performed in a diverse group of ensembles across the east and west coast of the United States, ranging from classical to twentieth century music. He is currently affiliated with The Delaware Symphony, Opera Delaware, The Harrisburg Symphony, Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia and The Network for New Music.Currently, Mr. Frazier is finishing course work at Temple University for state certification to teach in the public school system. A former faculty member of The Settlement Music School, Mr. Frazier maintains an active teaching schedule at his studio in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. He also performs with his wife Ruth, a violist, in chamber music recitals with The Danoff String Quartet.Mr. Frazier has recorded with Toshiba, Albany and Arabesque Records. |
