Press Reviews
Digital City- Wild Blue is a one-man extravaganza of experimentalism. Nontraditional Instruments (i.e., desktops, phones, and "everything else you can think of") create recordings that function as stories. Much of the material easily qualifies as what some consider sound art. Wild Blue's continuum spans from a complete break with the traditional forms of music to rave-like techno echoes. At moments, it's as if we're hearing what logically follows the trajectory of the 1960s pop hit and techno precursor, "Popcorn." It's technology fitted to an aural aesthetic. Like a soundtrack for the postindustrial age, Wild Blue's material affirms a reality where robotics subsume smokestacks. -- Dylan Roberts |
