Artist History
During his art college days in Kansas City, Missouri, Mickey Hager formed a Sixties-style cover band called BadKitty, where he performed as a bass player and vocalist. Eventually the band broke up and members went their separate ways. Mickey found his way to Ames, Iowa and there continued the process of writing original material. Looking for an avenue to document the material, Mickey stumbled upon the DECK II recording software for Apple Macintosh computers and began the process of performing, recording and producing his newly developed material. Mickey Hager began the project that would become the WalrusGods as a tool to share new song ideas with his old band mates back in Kansas City. Ultimately the process of recording the songs lead to the "Hurricane" CD, pressed in December of 1999. |
