Artist History
SAREPTA is Manuel (vox) Heli (guits) Micha (bass) Klaus (drums). Formed in the spring of 1992, SAREPTA has put out their first demo in the following year and got positive critics. In the spring of 1997, the band released their first really professional effort S.U.N.K. - thrashy songs with Hardcore backbone. After organizing a fat promo tour throughout Germany and Austria the quartet is releasing their third album in 1999. This full-length release, titeled Soulscars, is definitely the strongest output of these four guys. 14 tracks that convince through professional sound and composition. On listening to the new shit you arrive to this conclusion: big-time potential and ..... this power package will definitely fuck you up for good! |

Press Reviews
Brutalized Fanzine (USA)5 songs of fast paced thrashcore is what this offers. Manuel's vocals are very coarse and abrasive, almost going into death metal territory. This is heavy as shit and really bombards you with aggression. Each song pretty much has its own identity. Some songs have a distinct hardcore backbone to them while others are more outright thrashing.Amputation Magazine (Sweden)When I first played ‚s.u.n.k.' it totally got into me. The music is so powerful and full of energy and the singer has one of the best vocals I've heard from a German band. Their thrash metal, with a touch of hardcore, could be campared to old MACHINE HEAD but that wouldn't be fair either, because the style that SAREPTA have developed is quite unique.Paranoyhard Zine (France)Speed and energic Thrashcore of a high quality. With this CD you'll find all the good and indispensable ingredients for an album. Nothing is forgotten. Intensity, brutality and aggression. A PANTERA influence is heard and if you look deeper in the vocals, ALTAR and OBSCENITY intonations. VERY GOOD! |
