Artist description
Moe Jones plays FEEL GOOD MUSIC - a generous portion of traditional rock served with sides of pop, blues and folk rock, and topped with a drizzling of creamy jazz sauce - best served piping hot, with a glass of champagne and a cup of joe. Our musical tastes are very eclectic - we blend rock, pop, jazz, blues, and folk styles into (what we believe is) a fresh smorgasbourd of sound. We've been described as Steely Dan meets Squirrel Nut Zippers, Huey Lewis & The News, Annie Lennox, Gracie Slick, and Peter, Paul & Mary performing with John Fahey at a Star Trek convention! Fitting into a category is not high on our list of priorities, but our fans keep coming back for more.

A very exciting time was had by all at the Los Angeles Hard Rock Cafe in December of 2001, when Moe Jones was voted the Los Angeles winner of the Hard Rock Cafe's "12 Bands of Christmas" competition, sponsored by Hard Rock Cafe, Garageband Records, and Samuel Adams and was voted Top 5 nationwide!
September 2001 we won Domenico's (Pasadena,CA) "Battle of the Bands", in which 20 bands competed.
January 2002 we released our first full-length "debut" album, "Cup of Joe", which is available for purchase at CDBaby.com. We've had radio airplay on KLOS 95.5 FM in Los Angeles, and KRCL 90.9 FM Salt Lake City.

Group Members
David Coleman (keyboard, guitar, vocals) - David is a songwriter and composer. He has played piano from a very early age and also doubles on guitar and vocals. He studied theory and composition at Chicago Musical College. Besides songwriting, he has written several radio jingles, an off-Broadway musical, and does music for film and video. He just finished directing the independent film "Survival of the Fattest" for MacQueen Productions and is partners with the ever-talented Robert Oriol in film and television scoring for Black Page Music.
Doug Forsyth (drums, vocals) - Doug has been playing drums since he was five years old. If he's not playing drums, he can be found playing the steering wheel in his car, or providing comic relief for the band. Doug has been in numerous bands and has performed as a drummer in musical theatre as well.
Michelle Holmes (lead vocals, bass) - Michelle sang as part of a duo in various clubs in LA before joining Moe Jones. As an actor, Michelle had a recurring role on the ABC sitcom "Fudge" and starred as Ingrid in the independent film "A Weekend With Barbara und Ingrid" for Angelika Films. Michelle can be heard on the new CD "Ugly Dogs Need More Love" for The Laurel Canyon Radio Company on Quicksilver Records. Plus, she recently did a guest spot on the new Dick Wolf TV series "Arrest & Trial." And, she can be seen in a dog collar in the upcoming film "Survival of the Fattest." It's an animal thing.
Steve Pinkney (lead guitar, vocals) - Steve is a Los Angeles native who began playing guitar at age 8 mostly to impress the Agostini sisters down the block. Though his endeavors met with little success, he continued practicing under his mother's tutelage and became proficient enough to play solo gigs at a young age and compete in State College bluegrass guitar festival competitions and actually win a couple. A veteran of local rock bands, Steve brings to Moe Jones a unique blend of styles from mellow acoustic fingerpicking to soulful electric blues licks.
