The song was published by the EMI Record Label and was played in a dinner gala attended by the honoree.Miguel De Caro's two Cd's to date, "Saxotangueando" (1993) and "Tangofuerte" (1998)show him at his peak. The single "Tiempo Fuerte",written by Raúl Garello, included in his last work, is being used as a theme song in several TV and radio shows.Besides his continuous gigs, and his teaching agenda(for which he is requested and recognized as anauthority in the field), Miguel De Caro's currentplans include to show his talent overseas.Growing up in a family with Tango music lineage, and after finishing his academic studies at the age of 18, Miguel started to teach music. At thesame time, he constantely attended the jam sessionsheld at the emblematic "Britannico Bar" (a kind of "Mintons" for the tango)in San Telmo. There he got to play with the cream of the crop insessions where (like in the old jazz days) he whocould not follow the old masters'pace was automatically rejected.Between 1991 and 1995 he attended several clinicsheld in B.A. by the Berkle College of Music. He had the chance, then, to meet Gary Burton, whoseemed very interested in some of Miguel's arrangements of Tango Classics that he shows to him. After some years spent as sessions player in radio and TV shows, Miguel devotes his entire time to his own project since the early 80's. |
