Artist History
The LORDS are: SCOTT LING on drums, SUGAR on bass, & DENNIS A. BELL on guitar and vocals. Formed in 1992, the LORDS would play at any honky-tonk or dive bar that would have them. Playing rockabilly, surf, & truck drivin' music as well as their own morbid originals, the LORDS would quickly win over the crowd and have them up and dancing. The LORDS put out an 8 song cassette of their own songs in 1994. Then in 1995 the LORDS were signed to DRINK AND DRIVE RECORDS and released a 7", DIESEL FUEL which got great rag mag reviews as well as air play on the college radio. Their 1996 MOMMA MARRIED A TRUCKER CD did equally well as did their 7" record released in 1997 under SONIC SWIRL RECORDS. The LORDS hit the road all over the Mid-West, driving up to 8 hours from their home town of CLEVELAND to play with such bands as SONNY BURGESS, WEBB WILDER, DICK DALE, LEE ROCKER, SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS,WEISLY WILOUS and fellow Clevelanders THE COWSLINGERS.So grab a stiff drink, put the LORDS on and enjoy. |

Press Reviews
Next up. . .Lords of the Highway. Damn, how many times have I seen this band? Well, there is a reason, they are one of the better live bands I have ever seen. The lyrics, the guitar riffs blow me away. The bass thunders and booms like a thousand cannons to a rockabilly beat. And the hard-edged psycho-drumming adds the crowning touch to everything I demand in a live show. Read all the previous reviews! Look at all the pictures! But, there were two tricks at this show. Two new songs, “Honky Tonk Asshole” a delightful singalong, and “Sock Hop” a traditional sounding RAB tune that Sugar wrote and sings. I could go on forever about Lords, but I won’t. |
