    Artist description
"Erik Young is a Los Angeles-based musician who knows how to write [music]and entertain!" The Erik Young Project has been compared to artists such as The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett and the Barenaked Ladies. Their laid-back personality and quick wit make them a most enjoyable stage presence, while their music has a hook that won't let you go. EYP's shows are exciting and full of life, keeping all in attendance totally involved in the fun. Erik's skills at putting what he feels into words often make the listener say, "Hey, I know what you're saying.", and before you know it, you are singing right along with him. Check out his debut album, Coming Home, and see what you think.

    Artist History
Erik Young: lead and backing vocals, acoustic guitar and keyboards... This long-haired redhead has dreamed of nothing but music since birth. He lives to entertain and loves to watch people sing along. The "Project" began with Erik finally setting out and doing what he has always longed to do -- create an album. After 18 months and $15k, Erik ended up with a full-length CD that he is not only pleased with, but is currently getting limited airplay in Europe. With dreams of touring and business sense enough to make it hapen, the Erik Young Project will be a band you will definately hear more from. Aaron Preston: guitar and backing vocals... Aaron plays "mostly rhythm, but occasionally lead" guitar, provides backing vocals, and makes the "widdup" noise in that crowd-pleasing acapella interlude, Chic-a-bow-bow. He has co-written a number of songs with Erik including Mexico, Amy, And I'm Gone, and Natural Wonder. In his spare time, Aaron contemplates life, the universe, and everything. He lives in Torrance, California, with his wife, dog, and two goldfish. Ante Novaselic: guitar and backing vocals... Anthony "Ante" Novaselic is the newest addition to the EY Project. Ante (pronounced "on-tay") spent his formative years in Croatia heading a 4-piece rock ensemble, playing all four corners of the country. As the ensemble became more popular, they began headlining festivals and opening for major rock acts. Ante, forever on a quest for musical satisfaction, decided to return to Los Angeles to persue his calling. He has found time to lend his talents to this project in an effort to gain further knowledge in yet another musical style, and to just plain have some fun. Joe DiLeva: bass guitar and backing vocals... Joe DiLeva is a native Southern California boy, born and reared in San Pedro. He started playing bass and singing in local bands at the tender age of seventeen, mostly as a way to meet girls and get invited to the best parties. He continued to develop as a promising young basist when he attended L. A. Harbor College. There he studied theory and compostion under the mentorship of Ken Miller. Uncertain of his future and tired of the local scene, Joe took a chance and joined an established blues band called "Raunchie Rick and the Persuader Band". While in this group, he bagan to tour the midwest amd southwest of the states. He has also had the opportunity to play with many high quality musicians, such as former band members of Albert Collins, Percey Sledge, and Gregg Allman Band. After four years of touring and playing the blues, Joe returned home to finish his college education. He received a B.A. in History and Political Science from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. Joe continued to play music around the Los Angeles area during this time, most notably with Ryan Khin, son of 80's rocker Greg Khin. He hooked up with long-time rhythm section partner and cousin, Jon Poli for this project. Joe finally settled downin the mid-cities of L.A. with his life-mate, Ruth and their dog, Pepper. He currently is teaching middle school in L.A. while working on a Master's Degree and several musical projects. Jon A. Poli: drums, percussion and backing vocals... After studying at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music, Jon returned to Los Angeles to continue his musical journey. While studying Latin rhythms under the tutelage of Aaron Serfaty, he began lending his talents to a variety of cover and original bands, as well as solo artists in need of just the right rhythmic touch. In addition to Erik Young, he has most recently recorded with Delta-blues guitar phenom Sean Lane, R&B\Rap vocalist JESIC, country recording artist Shawn Michael Schull, pop vocalist Constance Hart, and the eclectic rockers Echodrift. Jon can also be found in the clubs of L.A. and Orange County playing with the aforementioned artists, and also with the cover band The Tickets. Jami Chapas: lead and backing vocals (and eye candy)... No, she is definately not one of "the boys in the band"! By far the best looking one on stage, not to mention most likely smarter that all of them put together, Jami adds that needed "woman's touch" to the events of the evening. Armed with a sultry alto voice and an enthusiasm that would put a high school pep squad to shame, she is enough to draw a crowd on her own. Jami has been singing with Erik for over four years, and has co-written a number of songs with him, including Moved To Nashville, which can be found on Erik's debut album, Coming Home.

    Press Reviews
Ray Blackburn, Nationwide "If you like the music of Jimmy Buffett, the Eagles, and the Barenaked Ladies, you will like Erik Young! His music combines entertaining lyrics, soaring harmonies, and polished musicianship. As good as his CD is, he sounds even better live... If you're lucky enough to live in the L.A. area, definitely check him out!" Dan Stout, Colossal Mastering [Erik Young's music is] ecclectia without annoyia. As reviewed at Amazon.com: Erik Young is about to explode on the music scene with this incredibly well-performed CD. The songwriting and lyrics are a combination of Eagles, Beach boys, and John Mellencamp. This is emotional music that will make you want to get up and sing or sit down and cry as Mr. Young takes you on a rollercoaster ride of feelings. This CD also has some excellent musicianship performances; the solo are nice and smooth and the rhythm section is exceptionaly tight. Stand out singles include: "Moved to Nashville, Mexico, and Funeral at Sea. Once you've heard this exciting new artists' work, Im sure you will agree that Erik could well be the future of Pop/Rock. dont miss this inspiring piece of "americana" music.
