Artist description
"Like the screams of a hundred aborted fetus, Diphallic Terata irritate like a scab on a blister on a sunburn on an open wound in some apocalyptic and nightmarish battle ground. You might be offended or frightened, but there's no way to deny them their intensity. Their style is a mix of early Sabbath punching into Voivod and My Sister's Hymen with astounding impetus. The frenetic lead guitar styles of Guitarist Johnny Terrata make you want to hang a picture of him on your wall faster than a christmas light the day after thanksgiving, while singer Joey Terrata and bassist Mikey Terrata's 2, 3, and 4 part vocal harmonies will make you wish you believed in god."Al Stankus -Valley Voice |

Artist History
Began in 1981 by seperated siamese twin brothers Joey and Mikey Connoly, Diphalic Terrata (The name of the medical anamoly in which a baby is born with 2 penis's)was started originally as a Motorhead tribute band. When the decision was made to convert to a Saxon tribute band, the brothers welcomed Guitarist John Leaky, and Drummer Ron Tamboreen. Collectively they would become known as Diphallic Terata and have their last names legally changed accordingly. They took 13 years to write their 1st and to this date only original song "Skin is Like Paper". The time in between was spent touring Europe playing Soccer Hooligan Rallys and every year the annual Dead Sealion Octoberfest held in Dresden. |

Press Reviews
Translated excerpt from 1985 German music fanzine "Das Kibbitzein" on a Diphalic appearance opening for Austrailian death metal band "My Father's Fist" on their 1989 "Torture's Too Kind" tour:........"The second openers were the American Diphalic Terata. Their very loud roar was understated for a moment when nude singer Joseph was temporarily stricken with what appeared to be a heart attack. He soon gained enough strength to rise and finish their cover of Escape (The pina colata song) and bow gracefully from the stage." |
