Artist description
Ziggurat are english singer-songwriters Dave Styles and Steve Verge from
the South West of England. Friends of the Incredible String Band we have
recorded with the famous folk-song collector Peter Kennedy. Try to label us and
it gets difficult - listen to the songs themselves to judge the variety. |

Artist History
We have been operating as Ziggurat in one form or another since 1973.
We released our first album in the UK in 1974, recorded by the famous
folk-music collector Peter Kennedy (an associate of Alan Lomax). The years
between have seen various bursts of activity, but we set-to in earnest again
in late 1997. We find ourselves still knocked-out by the same music and with the
same enthusiasm for making our own music as we did when we met in 1970 as
schoolboys. Two men, staring into a new century in one direction and smiling
jackdaw-like as we pick over our extensive backlog of songwriting. We continue
to write songs and music both individually and collectively |
