Artist History
in 1999 Thee Maypolers reformed and began recording what would become their first album. A hard summer of busking as a 3 piece during the Calgary stampede left the band low down and dejected. Riding on the waves of dissappointment they once again returned to the studio where they recorded another pitiful schwak of songs which were again ignored. They then disbanded... again. Then, in the spring of 2000 Thee Maypolers were offered a show opening for the Melvins. Due to the nature of the headlining band, Thee Maypolers recruited Harry Hofer, drummer of Massive Ferguson & Fiona Tarnation, session musician and fiddle player extrordinaire to beef up the lineup. The members of the band were happy with the more agressive sound and decided to soldier on in this new incarnation. |
