Artist History
Peter Breinholt was born in Piladelphia, PA and later moved to Salt Lake City. Breinholt has been a listening and writing music since childhood. While in college, Breinholt rented a studio and recorded twelve songs he had written during college. The resulting recording was made into 500 cassettes which got passed around Salt Lake college campuses and went on to become the top-selling, independently producec album ever in the region. Breinholt quickly fomred a band, Big Parade, and began performing in halls and theaters around town. Now Breinholt regularly plays to 5,000-plus crowds with his hometown with his unique brand of acoutic music. ong friends and then went on to become one of the best-selling, independently produced CDs of all time in Utah--almost entirely by word-of-mouth. Breinholt was suddenly thrust into the regional spotlight. He formed Big Parade, an ensemble of five musicians, and began performing live--first on college campuses and then in local theaters. Within two years Peter Breinholt & Big Parade was selling out multiple nights in some of Utah's most famous concert halls. "[He] is the closest thing Utah has to a musical phenomenon," wrote one Salt Lake paper in 1995. "If you haven't heard of Peter Breinholt & Big Parade, you've been out in the frigid cold." Breinholt has since released two more albums, "Heartland" and "Deep Summer", and he and Big Parade show no signs of losing momentum. |
