Artist History
Jerry has known since his first public performance at age 11 when he serinaded his neighborhood from the top of the roof with a little "Tom Jones" version of 'Green Green Grass Of Home', that he wanted to be heard by anyone who'd listen. Well, thats no problem today as he is building a solid following in Southern California where he now resides. Ready to release his self named first C.D "Jerry Carr", he's hoping to get some attention in a more conventional manner these days. Press Reviews
Letter from Jim Harris Nashville attorney of Gordon Martin Jones & Harris. Dear Don."As you know I have had many such meetings with prospective artists during my years on Music Row, but rarely have I had a chance to meet such a compelling person as Jerry. He creates an immediate and favorable impression just by the way he carries himself and by the way he relates himself to everyone at the table. He is of course a handsome man. For someone who wants to be a successful entertainer that is a decided plus. He is more than handsome however. He is quietly dynamic and self assured without being at all cocky or overly impressed by his own self importance. There is a sincerity about him that he conveys efortlessly and to great effect. If you can capture these qualities on film or in his music, there is little reason to doubt his prompt acceptance by the public. My suggestion at this point is that he align himself with a producer of some standing in the local community. This will help him open the proverbial doors and will turn him in to a producer-artist team that will be far more attractive to major lables. I look foward to seeing you again." this was a letter from a Nashville attorney whose firm represents Reba McIntire and Garth Brooks. The following is from the Ventura County Star. CAR SALESMAN REVS UP SECOND CAREER "Jerry Carr of Thousand Oaks could be the next country music sensation. He won the True Value Country Showdown singing competion hosted by KHAY at Cafe Voltaries Ban-Dar in Ventura on Saturday night. He will perform tonight in Thousand Oaks. Carr won primarily for his marketability, according to Bonnie Campbell, KHAY promotions director, who coordinated the local competition. "He was the most outstanding of the contestants in marketability, stage presence and charisma on stage. He captured the attention of all the judges" she said. "He was the type of guy you would walk in and see perform and think he could be the next big act out of Nashville" she said. "This is very exciting" Carr said. "It gives me an opportunity to show what I can do with people watching from a different level. "Two of his songs made it to the top fifty of TNN's national songwriting contest out of thirteen thousand entrys. On what it would take to make it happen Carr said "It would take a publishing or an artist deal that would bring in a lump sum of money up front. Or an investor who would be willing to make a commitment". Carr Is a Mercedes-Benz salesman for Calabasas Motor Cars. He and his wife have four children. |
