Artist description DreamSinger features the ethereal voice of human rights activist and female singer/songwriter, Demian, supported by the musical talents of Stacey Young.*** Demian sang "Keeping the Dream Alive", a song she wrote for the students of Tiananmen Square at the Candlelight Vigil for the June 4th Tiananmen Square Massacre held in Washington, D.C., June 2000, and DreamSinger's songs have been aired into China over Radio Free Asia. *** A 3-part article written about Demian, her life and dream of one day dancing on the Great Wall of China was published in a Taiwanese newspaper, "Ren Jian Fu Bao", August 2, 3 and 4, 2000. Demian has also been featured in a mainland China literary website. She continues to work for human rights in China through her role in DreamSinger as well as through the internet in her activist and music website, "Keeping the Dream: On the NightBeach", http://www.keepingthedream.com. *** Generally speaking, Demian writes lyrics and melodies. Stacey creates musical compositions. They both share in arranging and producing, while Stacey does all the recording, engineering and plays the majority of the instruments. *** Politically, DreamSinger respects the dignity of all humans and supports the rights and responsibilities of individuals and nations to freedom of expression, self-determination and free speech. Demian is inspired by vocalists such as Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, Loreena McKennittt, Enya, Paula Cole and Sarah McLachlan to name a few. Stacey's greatest musical inspiration is the music and innovative talents of Todd Rundgren.
