Artist description Small Town Motion are part of the Welsh pop explosion. Hailing from Pontypool in Gwent, their energy filled power pop style has earned them complementary recognition throughout the live scene in South Wales.Their unique energetic sound contains a powerful mix of harmonic guitar and punchy lead vocals. Meanwhile the drums and bass give aural injection of punk rhythm and the harmonies, which are part and parcel of Small Town Motion's style, pull together an instantly catchy and animated whole. Song-writing inspirations stem from the struggle of art against capitalist society set against the working class backdrop of South Wales. As well as from more every-day things such as terraced houses, local mushrooms, big trees and sheep.

Artist History Brothers Craig Jenkins (guitar and lead vocals), Lee Jenkins (drums) and Matt Harvey (guitar and vocals) have been writing songs together for over four years& Small Town Motion were formed in 1997 when Sion James joined the group on bass. Since then they have spent their time writing, playing, arranging and recording material in Wales and use the Grassroots Soundhouse Studios in Cardiff, frequented by the Super Furry Animals. The group's incessant touring over the last year within South Wales and London has enabled the band to develop a formidable fan base. Televised performances on BBC Choice’s entertainment show “The Wrap”, have also brought the band to the attention of a wider audience.Following significant record company interest over the last few months Small Town Motion continue to reel off new material at an alarming rate, which looks set to secure them a major deal.Currently Small Town Motion are putting together an extensive tour of Wales, which will take in some of Cardiff and Newport's best venues, as well as University Student Unions throughout the country
