Artist description
We are a now defunct group of ex-college students blowing off steam. The intent being to write music that is difficult enough to play that it is good practice. Because most weeks, band practice was the only time our instruments got any attention at all. Classical musicians would call them "etudes", except that ours are less sophisticated and louder. |

Artist History
This band was a vent. A creative release, and little else. Music for music's sake alone, I think we played three times in public. We all had serious majors so we made time to play to keep from burning out. We were together for just over two years. The pattern was simple: go to school and do homework all of the time except for saturday morning when we "practiced" for three hours in my grandma's basement. We never really practiced for anything, we just played until we were too tired to play anymore. We played our songs, then other people's songs, then anything we heard on the radio that week. These recordings were made during reading days before my final set of finals in my school career before I graduated. We took three hours and recorded ten songs (the other two are covers to which we do not own the rights.) We used a regular cassette tape 4-track and recorded all of the songs live on three tracks and I added the vocals later. The ones we played first turned out pretty good, and the ones we played last were less good. And a word of caution, if you are a musician who does not practice--avoid soloing in the third hour of recording, especially if you can't feel your fingertips (or lips, as the case may be) any longer. |
