Artist History octopoet was born out of the New York spoken word, electronic and jam band scene with a purpose to take it's listeners on a mental excursion. Octopoet debuted in NY with spoken wordsmith Frank Messina of Spoken Motion, Mark White of Spin Doctors, Scott Murawski and Scott Allshouse of Max Creek, Brian Jackson and Larry McDonald of Gil Scott-Heron Band, DJ Mike K, Erik Lawrence and others. It has turned into an amorphous ensemble and it's members are now known simply as "band member 10-A etc." It's pure fun and craziness.
