Artist History
With a raw blend of passion, dedication, and style, Seattle’s own Nobody Wins will infect listeners with a broad range of emotions. Since the summer of 2001 Nobody Wins have labored themselves into a unique rock outfit with an energetic presence and an undeniably intense live show. Coupled with an honest love of music and the diverse background of each member, Nobody Wins blends sounds together that will have you tracing influences from such acts as The Cars, U2, Bruce Hornsby and Tom Petty, to more modern days acts such as Coldplay, Face To Face, No Knife, and more. The hard work ethics of Nobody Wins reaches farther than just the music however. All members have at one time worked for the start up rock media laboratory Squad Studios, which is run by members Jordan and Joshua. All their hard work has been starting to pay off. Nobody Wins recently won their region in the Alternative Press Warped Tour contest and has shared the stage with the bands Face to Face, Saves the Day, and The Suicide Machines to name a few. Nobody Wins is currently gearing up to record a full length due out the winter of 03, which will showcase over a year’s worth of intense practice and writing. Nobody Wins plans to continue writing music that will breathe life years from now through their careful blend of musicianship, emotion, and great songwriting. |

Press Reviews
Sunday June 23rd, 2002. The Graceland, Seattle.
Don't let their name fool you. Last night at the Graceland Nobody Wins, an up-and-coming local Seattle band, proved to everyone that are not only very energetic perfomers, but that they have the ability and a special fitness in today's music world. With a mixed style of melodic and punk rock, the music filled the room, echoed in the hearts of the crowd, and struck fear in the minds of the band's worst enemies; emo bands. They finished their 30 minute set with the 3 tracks from their recently completed demo, which can be picked up for free if you sign up on their mailing list, and finally the hidden track titled, "I'm going to get drunk tonight," a song written and performed by Devin Roberts on the piano. Believe me when I say that this song would make Ray Charles himself stand up and say, "I CAN SEE!"
After the smoke cleared, I was able to briefly set aside my awe, and I found myself on the loud streets of Seattle exchanging words with Nobody Wins...
turnitup: "First of all, who is Nobody Wins? What are your names and what do you play?"
Nobody Wins: "I'm Kevin, I play bass." "Josh, I play guitar and sing." "I'm Devin, and I scream and play guitar and the piano."
turnitup: "What's in the future for Nobody Wins?"
Kevin: "We are playing Warped Tour, we just finished a three song demo that we are giving out everywhere, and we booked a lot of shows for the summer."
turnitup: "I heard something about a show coming up in Issaquah."
Kevin: "We are playing July 5th in Issaquah at Illusions with Hat Trick."
turnitup: "So how did you guys all meet?"
the drummer: "I was born of the same mother that he was (points to Josh)."
turnitup: "And who are you?"
the drummer: "I am Jordan."
turnitup: "And what do you play?"
Jordan: "drums...and the fiddle. Josh is my brother, and Devin is a vocal (interrupted)...
Devin: "Josh recorded my old band, and that's how we knew eachother."
Jordan: "We've known Kevin from back in the day when we were in The Jackie Chans...he was helping us out with shirts."
turnitup: "I've actually heard the demo several times, and I think it's really good. I've heard nothing but good things about it from everyone inside. How long did it take you to put it together?"
Devin: "We've been playing for about four months. We started writing and recording. We starting puting more effort into it and it became kind of an EP type thing. We went a little more over than we were expecting. It's more album quality."
turnitup: "Do you plan on putting out a full album anytime soon?"
Kevin: "Our label wants us to have it out by the end of the summer."
turnitup: (asking Devin) On the hidden track found on your demo(titled, "I'm going to get drunk tonight"), were you really crying at the end?"
Devin: "I was bawling my head off."
It's bands like Nobody Wins that are going to give Seattle the musical respect it deserves, and help erase Seattle's label as an emo dwelling forever.
Be sure to check out Nobody Wins on July 5th at Illusions in Issaquah, Washington.
