Artist description
Marianne Kesler is a singer-songwriter and recording artist from Bellefontaine, Ohio. Marianne has always loved music. First trained as a viola player, Marianne taught herself to play the guitar at age 12, in order to provide a musical backdrop to accompany her vocals. Marianne made her first studio demo in 1988, and won the chance to record an album of cover tunes in 1991. This was the beginning of performing on a regular basis, and her first tour was in the summer of 1993. Marianne plays a 1970 Martin guitar and her musical style continues to be an eclectic mixture, blending elements of folk and rock. Her 1994 album was recorded with the vocals center stage and Marianne's acoustic guitar and other insturments in the background, giving the project a "coffeehouse" feel. The 1997 and year 2000 projects continue a trend toward a band sound, melding folk roots with the music of modern rock. |
