Artist description
Bob and Ray are but only two alter-egos of brothers Norm and Hugh Scott. Intermittent reunions often result in tunes comprisedof tongue-in-cheek humor and sheer wackiness. |
 |
Music Style
A genre experiment, fusing funk, soul, rap, and good ol' fashioned crooning. |

Artist History
It all started in 1991, with the unlikely recording of an impromptu opera entitled "L'Opera Bete" ("The Stupid Opera"). This opera was sung without any instrumentation and was spontaneously composed. Thus, the story unfolded before our eyes and during recording we never actually knew what was going to happen next. The result was a rather interesting and complex story, involving Bob and Ray (two late-middle-aged bumbling security guards), Rochetti (funk-daddy and con artist), and Lisa (bank teller and Rochetti's squeeze/partner in crime." With the purchase of a four-track recorder in 1994, we decided to write a sequel. Thus the as-yet-untitled rock-opera sequel is now underway. Since we no longer live under the same roof, each song is often recorded during random get-togethers. Thus we have now been working on it for seven years, recording a new track whenever we get the chance. The lapse of time is reflected in the recordings, as each one seems to evolve artistically and technically. We hope to have this rock opera finished and ready for your listening pleasure within, oh, say, the next decade? |
