Artist History
Formed in 1995 with five members we have become a subliminal fixture in teh Denver music scene. Our trombonist, flutist/drummer, and bassist have been featured on many Elephant 6 recordings by The Apples in Stereo, The Minders, and Neutral Milk Hotel. We play at all the hipsters' weddings, art openings, rummage sales, burlesque shows, and fire safety code violating clubs. We may be the only jazz that local speed metal fans have ever heard. As of the spring of '99 we have been trimmed to four members. |

Press Reviews
Westwor 9/2/99 "Hit Pick"The Perry Weissman 3 at Seven South, Friday, September, were recently selected to perform at New York City'sinfamous CMJ Music Festival later this month, and it's raised a bit of a problem. A good problem, to be sure, but a problem nonetheless. The five-person band, which includes the talents of Mike Serviolo and Brian Murphyon guitar, bassist Dane Terry, drummer Merisa Bissinger and trombonist Rick Benjamin, is thrilled to have the opportunity to add its genre-defying approach to instrumental music -- as much rock as it is the jazz or lounge people oftenlabel it -- to the roster of 500 bands selected to play. Trouble is, the bandmembers are not sure how they'll afford the long, gear-toting trip to the East Coast. So think of Friday night's performance as a kind of fundraiser for a unique and experimental outfit that shouldserve as a fine ambassador for Denver's more creative musicalartisans. -- Laura Bond |
