Artist description
Recording her album was an all-out cross country adventure of backrooms, angry neighbors, forty-eight hour days and renting equipment instead of buying food. Teaming up with songwriter and producer, Tom Roscoe, Shonna's independent attitude gives her music an experimental and alternative twist. Deluge is an album about cleansing and coming to terms with herself.; an amazing collection of songs that truly represent the whole spectrum of her personality. It will take you on a journey of emotions and thoughts. Almost all the songs reflect periods in Shonna's life, written with a faint poetic justice. From the happy party girl in "Shower guys", rebellion and anger with "Ugly" and "Astroturf Lawn" to love and heartbreak in "Winterstreet", she definitely expresses her feelings. Combining pop elements such as synths, guitar and strings with breaks, beats and loops gives the songs the familiarity of pop but breathes life and attitude into them. |
