Artist History
Formed around 1992, when Tim had left Bristol for a self-imposed exile in northern Poland, where live radio sessions for state and commercial radio stations, a weekly radio show and live performances throughout the country helped to establish himself as one of the pioneering movers in the east european dance music scene.Returning to Bristol, the album "Baltic Beats" was released on Mouse Records in 1998 to critical acclaim and widespread radio airplay; from Seattle to Tokyo, Toronto, Warsaw and London. In 1999, Tim collaborated with Canadian poet Patrick Woodcock, whom he'd met in Poland, producing the album "Athelia & Other Stories", containing 8 poems inspired by the Baltic, set to music.Roland From Poland has expanded to 3 members recently for live perf ormances at the Malcom X Centre in Bristol and at the Barton Hill Festival. There was recently an appearance at Glastonbury Festival.Previous incarnation as "Earth Beat Synphonic" with Jon Pink in 1988-91, signed to Warrior Records of London, released EP and two 12" singles, performing live ambient house and early techno at warehouse parties, squat raves and the like.{ |
