    Artist description
    Saxophonist, flutist and vocalist Paul Combs works with various musicians in duos, trios quartets and quintets. In the fall of 2000 he hopes to present a nine-piece group. Watch this space or www.paulcombs.com for more information.

    Artist History
    Paul Combs began perfroming professionally in 1963. He has worked in many genres of music over the years, but has been at heart a Jazz musician since he was a teen-ager. He has been leading Jazz bands in the New England area since the mid '70s. In addition, he has scored various short films, mostly commercial and industrial productions, and has written for radio, TV and theater. Paul is also an established music educator who currently teaches privately and gives lectures and workshops. He is also working on a book about the role of composer Tadd Dameron in the evolution of Jazz during the '40s and '50s. He also writes for various magazines on topics in Jazz
    Group Members
    As many in Jazz, Paul Combs works with a variety of musicians. However, he does work very frequently with guitarist Jay Ford. The bassists most often heard with Paul are Doug Rich, Tony Sumbury and Pedro Verdugo. Drummers Stanley Swann III and David Hurst have worked with him frequently in the last couple of years.
