Mike and Dan have also been playing together for 10 years or so in the Appleton/Neenah Wisconsin area. The four got together in 1999 forming Laughing Whitefish, and are rapidly becoming known in folk music venues around Northeastern Wisconsin. Group Members
...Chuck Thomas (Vocals, Banjo, Mandolin, Bouzouki) escaped from a Bluegrass musical background. He has played Banjo and Guitar for 25 years in Bluegrass groups in Wisconsin and Oklahoma. Chuck also engineered the recording of the bands first CD "Catch of the Day" ... Mike Heath (Vocals, Guitar) often sings the lead vocal part, and he wrote many of the songs performed by Laughing Whitefish. Mike has received numerous awards and is a member of the Songwriters of Wisconsin and the Nashville Songwriters Association ... Kari Sternkopf (Vocals, Violin, Recorder) is a classically trained musician who also plays violin in the Green Bay Civic Symphony. Kari plays many different instruments including guitar, mandolin, and cello ... Dan Geddes (Vocals, Mountain and Hammer Dulcimer, etc.) has been active in the Wisconsin folk music scene for many years. Dan plays many different instruments, and probably holds the record for the number of musical instruments owned. Just ask his wife, Cindy. |
