Artist description
The Junkyard Angels are an original four-piece rock & roll combination based in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. The band formed in the beginning of 1999, and began performing live at local venues in the winter of 1999/2000. The members have come together from various musical backgrounds, producing a stylistically diverse sound. The Angels blend themes from a range of musical genres, including rock, folk, bluegrass, jazz and country. The Junkyard Angels are: Tom Arnold on drums, Rob Cunningham on bass guitar, Mark Kitson on guitar and lap steel, and Ted Van Berg on guitar; with Ted and Mark sharing vocals. Recent performances in the Philadelphia area include a series of headling gigs this year at The Nail in Ardmore, the Speakeasy Cafe in Philadelphia, and most recently the Grape Street Pub in Manayunk. Additional shows include the Pontiac Cafe, and Doc Watson's in Philly. The Angels are currently working on several new recordings to be included on their debut album, due out later this year.
