Artist description iBand - is... is a band, see? And they play music, see? Different kinds of music,with real and imagined instruments, ok? And they do it good. Yes, they do. Why? Because they like to do that. They could be working to be dot-com gazillionaires.They could be sex machines, should they so choose. But they are love-slaves to the Muse, and that is that, as any student of behavioral conditioning could tell you. A Jungian might tell you that they are open channels to deep layers of the collective unconscious and are adept soul-divers able to wrest the phantasmagoric and ephemeral glittering visions of humanity's greatest dreams and terrible nightmares and perform alchemical and miraculous magick in manifestation on the material plane. But that sounds overly-academic, so please don't.

Artist History It was a dark and stormy night when the members of iBand sloped into the Gentleman Loser, seeking a console cowboy to, as they put it, "gently mouse around the music industry and find an honest manager." gOsUbrUn just glanced up from his barstool. Their naivete contrasted sharply with his affected cypherpunk image, the requisite black tshirt, jeans and boots being relieved by the colors jacket he wore, festooned with hundreds of band badges and microcircuitry. Also, he wasn't wearing wraparound shades, so that was good. They bought gOsUb a beer. gOsUb gave them a bootleg copy of the director's (sound) cut of Buckaroo Banzai and a cracked version of the old Atari game. "If you can make it through the levels of this game, using the occult knowledge you gain from watching this film, you'll find my net address on the final screen. If you don't know what to do then, forget it." The band looked at him. Perhaps they should have bought him a top-shelf whisky instead. On the other hand, he had just the sort of cryptic, tight-lipped, tattered soul-edge feeling they associated with cpunx, being influenced a lot by media hype. "Why are you doing this?" they asked. "Because," gOsUb replied, "now shut up and go." The band returned to the Loser about a week later, and this time they bought gOsUb a tall glass of karakoumiss, toasted him heartily, and exclaimed, "Where are we going?," to which gOsUb replied, "MP3.com!"The band shouted, "When?" and gOsUb smiled and replied, "Reel sune!" That's all i know. You have to ask the band where they came from, because gOsUb doesn't ask. That would be gauche.
