Artist description
The Holland Nix Band blends thought provoking lyrics based on life experiences with an engaging stage show that involves their audience from the moment they step on stage. Holland has lived and traveled all over the country, giving her an insight that has proven invaluable to creating an instant connection with her listeners. The Holland Nix Bands rhythmic rock style is truly unique and displays their infectious individuality, yet is mainstream enough to reach the masses. Those that have heard their music or witnessed their live performances walk away instantly transformed to "die hard" fans.Their debut independent album, "100% Cotton" released in July of 2000, spans a wide variety of musical genres, from the edgy guitar licks of "The Airplane Song" to the melodic vibe of "Muse"…diversity resulting from the eclectic mix of music that has moved The Holland Nix Band since childhood. The last year has been one of constant progression for The Holland Nix Band. From their regional tour ("Road Trip to Rockfest") promoting Hard Rock Café’s annualfestival, to their finalist status in the Lillith Fair competition, they have garnered attention from both fans and music professionals alike. Most recently, they were semifinalists in the Oxygen Network’s (created by Oprah Winfrey) band competition, "Roxygen on Oxygen". The Holland Nix Band continues to perform showslocally and regionally, which are always good for a full house and an interesting performance. Their latest performances include opening for Sally Taylor inNashville, TN and appearing at the annual music conference South by Southwest 2001 in Austin, TX. |
