Artist History
Government Cheese is a three piece, punk band out of the shitty town ofCrowley ,TX. They started in 1997 under a different name and with a differentlead singer. As the years went by they got a couple of shows, but their musicsucked. One day, around July of '99, the lead singer decided to sing foranother band, so Government Cheese kicked his ass out. They hated his gutsfor awhile, but now they are all best friends. Anyways, the three surviving members, Cory Neighbours (bass), Cri'Rivera (drums), and Chance Reynolds (guitar), decided to become serious andmake something happen. With Chance as the lead singer, Government Cheese gota room on Highway 80, and started cranking out bad-ass punk music withstrong, meaningful lyrics. Since then they have played numerous shows at places all around D/FW.Some people have compared them to Anti-Flag, some have compared them toA.F.I, and some have even compared them to Propagandhi. They like to stayoriginal, so they don't compare themselves to anyone, and they try to stayaway from labeling themselves. They look up to bands like Bad Religion, andNOFX, even though they don't really sound like them. We've grown a lot, we used to be a lot smaller. |
