Artist description
Entangled Information is the audio-text site for Datawhore. The term "entangled information" is from work into quantum computing, and describes the future internet environment. The material posted here is drawn from recordings made this year at the Zone studio, or else older material recorded by Binda23. Generally, the texts are composed by inputting into Random Verse Lab or online cutup machines; the results are edited and then stored until needed. Datawhore is a UK-based writer, musician and artist whose professional background includes years as singer/songwriter, actor, screenwriter, novelist and performer. Potentia recording artists Zone's collaboration with Datawhore has led to the inclusion of two tracks on their new album Angel Of Freedom featuring his texts and vocals - "Other Lives" and "The Benefactor". Datawhore has just produced the debut single and album of UK artist Helen Zachariah for NDN Records (Texas, USA). Fascinated by the dynamics and skewed spirit of cyberspace, Datawhore uses common lo-tech PC audio tools to create lateral mutant sound collages that aspire to capture the energy of cyberspace. Chat rooms, cheesy religion, Microsoft and whatever else he can find pieces of floating around online sound file archives, plus his own cut up texts, are juxtaposed over abused generic dance music. Why? Not. Datawhore has been identified as the "Fatboy Slim of the 21st Century." At his LYCOS MP3 Listening Room Datawhore's material had over 3000 streams and 500 downloads; "Do Me, Computers" was in the Alternative/Experimental Top Ten for weeks after its posting. Datawhore has collaborated with Orbitronik, David A Stewart, and others, and is currently working on new material. |

Press Reviews
REVIEWS OF DATAWHORE:ukpunkrock: "...sleazy hokum...all astro-mentaland this here is the resulting felch. Imagine ripping the guts out of your pc and trying to arse fuck the remaining gaping chasm - well this is nothing like that."The Gem In Eye: "american pop culture must be siphoned through the Datawhore for reanimation.Tim Gibson: "Hey! Thanks for putting up my song 'His Name is Jesus' on your interesting MP3 radio station. Sometimes I don't know what you're going on about but your page did make me laugh! You have a warped sense of humour. By the way, His name REALLY is Jesus (or Yeshua to be more accurate) - maybe some of his close friends (or enemies)nicknamed Him whatever it was you said! You should get to know Him better and He'll redeem your sense of humour (ha!ha! - just joking). |
