Artist History
Doc Span (harmonica & vocals) and Ross Williams (guitars & vocals) teamed their special talents in 1990. Theirs is a musical partnership that celebrates the roots and the decades of dynamic development of the blues. These hard working bluesmen continue to enjoy a growing popularity amongst blues audiences Australia wide. The difference in their backgrounds serves to enrich individual styles, producing a rich blend of acoustic guitar and harmonica. Their 'A Walk Through The Blues' acoustic show has been highly applauded and features gentle toe-tappers to outright foot stompers. Record breaking residencies, annual appearances at major national music festivals and over two hundred live performances a year prove that they are world class professionals with a unique instrumental interplay and an alluring style that has established a large and faithful following. As well as repeated live concert appearances at the Woodford Folk Festival, the Thredbo Blues Festival and the National Country Music Muster as well as many other major events, Doc and Ross have maintained a healthy output of recordings. Their most recent offering; 'The Last Train' won a Sunnie Award for Best Blues Album of the year. This year they have capped their awards by being named Sunshine Coast Entertainers of the Year 2000 and won the prestigious Noosa Torch Relay Song Contest with their composition 'Lazy Noosa Sunday'. |
