Artist History
Club Velvet came into being when producer, John Blake (from Sweetie) remixed Anita Haxsaw's (a.k.a. Adrienne Hecker's) song, "Guard of the Garden." The two met in a downtown club in 1997. Two years later, in “99, John called Adrienne because of a tantalizing production seeking musician ad she’d placed in the City Paper. John, however, didn’t know that he already knew and had indirectly worked with, through the wonderful world of remixing, the savvy chanteuse before. Adrienne couldn’t have dreamed of a better producer; with an excellent ear and incredible style, …so viola! Club Velvet was born. They are currently recording at Funkella Produktionz and will release their first EP this summer, Slated for the fall: live shows including installation art and stage pageantry. Ha ha ha! See you there! |
