Artist History
Al Dente was born in Dublin in January 1999 to the threesome Oliver Gleeson, Paul Rizzo and Hilary Coughlan. Vocals from Hilary, Ollie the keyboard programmer, and Rizzo on bass, their diverse influences combine sweetly and the result is a new sound with a bite.New sounds are always difficult to define without comparisons their music has been compared to the likes of Massive Attack and Portishead. Inspirations lie in everything from Motown through to rock to triphop. There is a strong lyrical narrative throughout the pieces, with electronic instrumental sounds and vocal melodies magically complementing each story. Strong in stage presence, Al Dente attracts and identifies with a generation lost between the music of the 80s and 90s, in sense and in sound. With solid individual experience behind them, they deliver their songs with a polished performance, both live and in studio.Constantly progressing, Al Dente have played in Eamon Doran's and Temple Bar Music Centre on a number of occasions. Radio One, 2FM, Today FM, Jazz FM and Phantom FM regularly play the 3-track demo |
