Artist description
As our bandname (taken by the way from the awesome and strongly recommended movie "clerks") already indicates, chicks with dicks don't take themselves and their music totally serious. While still rocking hard and throwing all our talent and love into our songs, we still have an ironic/funny and -which is much more important- entertaining side, that we are only able to unfold completely when playing live. Although we write and perform music with the aim to be successful, we never lose eye-contact with our basic motivation of doing all this: Having fun, enjoying ourselves and getting positive feedback from every audience we play to. All this can be heard in our songs: Melodic guitarpop, often noisy and rocking, sometimes low and waiting to break out, but always filled with emotion and energy. Rock on! |

Artist History
chicks with dicks were originally founded in spring 2000 for just one gig at a shitty talentshow. But as this one was so much fun and the p.a.-guy at this show asked us if we wanted to record a demo at his studio FOR FREE (he really seemed to have enjoyed our show), we decided to go on and see how everything works out. So we did a couple of more shows and at the same time recorded and mixed the demo, finishing it at the end of summer. Right now we're planning to publish "Sisters In Rock" (that's what it'll be called) ourselves and are looking forward to all the positive experiences coming next! |

Press Reviews
"Multi-vocalist, hook ladden, guitared wormed ditty. No one get jealous, but this is my favorite tune so far on the station. Great middle section. The riff reminds me of early Who. This song definetely does not bore. It has a teaspoon of Barenaked Ladies too. Interesting interplay between all the components. I'm blushing with love for this tune." (The Mister O on the "mp3.com Inflated Rotation"-station about "sweatpants")_________________________________________________________ "look past the slightly distracting band name.. these guys know how to write a pop tune if anybody ever did. a little surf-flavored pop song.. definitely worth a listen." (aliviadora on "Built to Rock!"-mp3.com-radio about "sweatpants")_________________________________________________________ "Alternative rockers with a poppy soul. They remind me of circa-1990 Flaming Lips meets Sonic Youth." (Adam McIntyre on Tasty PowerPop Radio about "kahoonalike") _________________________________________________________ "I love the guitar work in this piece. The guitar work is so smooth that it flows like a great river. It reminds me of a local band from Ontario Canada called Foot In Cold Water. The music is like a great symphony of rock that is just perfect. I am so impressed with the stucture of the song. The vocals are great and the music well it is real music not elctroniced up but real musicainship here. People don't let the name of this band fool you.I have fallen in love with this song. Hope they come to Canada soon!! These guys are great." (John M. Crawford on "RP ONE"-mp3.com-radio about "so this is life") _________________________________________________________ Comments of friends: "This band makes me think of a line from Eminem: 'Wanna copy me and do exactly like I did?', because this band was my inspiration for Weezer in the first place." (Rivers Cuomo, Weezer) /// "These guys suck!...and, oh boy, there so good in doing that...I still remember the bass players warm and soft tongue...uh...." (Jimmy Pop Ali, Bloodhound Gang) /// "I really like this band. They make me wanna take their happy jingle-jangle guitars and stick 'em right down their throat. That'd be nice. Perfect entertainment." (Marylin Manson, Antichrist) |
