Artist History
The band originally emerged from the strong Irish session scene in Canberra, under the name 'Cooking for Brides'. A few years and a change of city later they renamed themselves 'Trouble in the Kitchen', and have continued to grow in reputation ever since. In 1998 Band members Adrian Barker won the Chris Wendt Memorial Young Perfomers award, and Kate Burke won The Liz Johnston Award For Vocal Excellence, both at the National Folk Festival. In 1999 Band Member Ben Stephenson won the National Celtic Festival Whistle compition, and in 2000 won the Declan Affley Award for his flute playing. |
