Press Reviews
I guess all legend have to start somewhere.MAKING MUSICThe first tape of this month's batch to make me stop and think - to wonder where they're coming from and what they're trying to say. I'm not suggesting "Johnny 7" is a surefire top ten hit, in fact it probably is'nt but it's interesting because it's not coming from any obvious musical camp, or trying to emulate another band. I'd say there's some kind of strong American influence, and parts of it reminded me vaguely of The Band, but it's a tenuous link bordering on the desperate"Only Connect" is another laconic meander through the deep south, but percieved through very English eyes. I forced to pass judgement, I'd say The Stunt Babies are probably ripping off some underground American Band I've never heard of. Then again I could be completely wrong. MAKING MUSIC |
