Artist description
Stones Throw is the collection of four musicians dedicated to the creative process of producing original compositions that pushes forward the current state of popular rock music. Each composition blends a steady flow of strong rhythms and soaring melodies to produce a combination of passion and energy. Stones Throw is a group from Austin Texas that has brought forth a mixture of virtuoso talent combined with pop rock sensibilities. They have worked to create a collection of songs that exemplify what artists can do when they truly focus their passions on creating better songs. The members Rodney Orta (lead vocals & guitar), Dustin Tanner (guitar), Marc Geraci (drums), and Tim Miller (keyboards) have spent the past three years dedicated to recording and arranging of the songs for their upcoming self-titled EP. It was during that time they truly developed their signature sound of soaring lead vocals backed by powerful guitar lines and drum beats, powerful hooks, and colorful melodies. The end result is a unique blend of rock music that energizes the listener on many levels and produces a very hypnotic sound. Their first EP is scheduled for a Fall of 2000 release and this debut draws on all of the band members talents to produce a very intense collection of songs, from the tight sounds of the single "PERFECT WORLD" to the melodic "SHE WALKS AWAY" to the multi-layered sounds of "IS THERE LOVE."Enjoy the first sampling of one of Texas' brightest and most talented bands who have emerged with a completely fresh recording and what promises to be one of the most important record releases this year. |
